BBK-owned smartphone brand Realme has started rolling out Android 10-based smartphone update for three of its smartphones — Realme 5, Realme 5s, Realme 5i.
The update is being rolled out in a staged manner which means that not all the users will receive it at the same time. While Realme 5s and Realme Realme 5 users need to be on version A.29 to receive this update, the Realme 5i users need to be on the version A.20 to receive this update, said the company in its forum post.
The update will be randomly pushed out to a limited number of users at first and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs, said Realme. “If no critical bugs are found, the full rollout will be completed in the upcoming days,” added the company.
The changelog is the same for all the smartphone updates. The update brings system level changes, security and more.
In terms of visuals, the update brings updates to Realme UI and new ‘Real Design.’ It also comes with a new sidebar that has an optimized user interface and improved one-handed operation.
Further, as part of system-level changes, it comes with added focus mode, new charging animation, pause feature for screen recording, optimized system built-in ringtones, etc.
The OS update also brings new live wallpapers, artistic wallpapers, customisations in terms of size, shape, and style of app icons on homescreen, etc.
For camera improvements, this update offers optimised Camera UI and Timer UI and sound. For Photos app, users will get an optimised Album UI for better thumbnails and Album Recommendations that is said to recognise more than 80 different scenes.
The new update also brings ‘share now’ support for Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi devices.
