Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have consistently been the two best footballers on the planet for a number of years now but the Portuguese still didn’t make the cut in Ronaldo’s list.
Brazil legend Ronaldo feels that it will take a long time before football fans get to witness another player like Lionel Messi, who topped his list of best players in the world right now.
Ronaldo named the five players he thinks are the best in the world, naming six-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi as his undisputed “number one”. Ronaldo also named Mohamad Salah, Eden Hazard, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as the players he loves to watch.
But the one big name missing from his list was that of Cristiano Ronaldo, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and Messi’s closest rival on the pitch.
Messi and Ronaldo have consistently been the two best footballers on the planet for a number of years now but the Portuguese still didn’t make the cut in Ronaldo’s list.
“Messi, of course, he is number one, he is a talent that means it will take 20 or 30 years to see something similar. I also like Salah, Hazard, Neymar, I love watching him play, of course Mbappe,” Ronaldo was quoted by AS.
Ronaldo singled out French football sensation Kylian Mbappe, who’s playing style has often been compared to the former Brazil striker himself.
“Many people say that he looks like me. He has a lot of speed, he finishes well, he has great movement, he shoots really well with both feet, he has an incredible stride.
“We have similar attributes, but I never liked the comparisons, especially between players of different generations, because the situations are different,” Ronaldo said.
