‘Deeply Grateful’: PM Modi After India Elected To UN Security Council

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday stated he’s “deeply grateful” for the overpowering strengthen proven by way of the worldwide neighborhood for India’s membership of the UN Security Council.

India will paintings with all member nations to advertise international peace, safety, resilience and fairness, he stated.

India garnered 184 votes out of the 192 ballots forged within the General Assembly to win the election for the non-permanent seat within the robust Security Council.

India’s two 12 months time period will start on January 1, 2021.

This is the 8th time that India will sit down on the UN high-table, which contains 5 everlasting individuals and 10 non-permanent individuals.

“Deeply grateful for the overwhelming support shown by the global community for India’s membership of the UN Security Council,” the top minister wrote on Twitter.
